With this EP Best Works Records would like to present a new artist - Luis Junior. No stranger to the game! Madrid-based Luis Junior has been a DJ and music producer for more than 20 years. In 1993 he released his first 12-inches starting to build a discography of genre-defying music that pushes forever forward, designing new stylistic frameworks and breaking new artistic ground with each successive production. Luis has grown into one of the most cutting edge and inspiring artists in Spanish electronic music.

His versatile production skills are clearly displayed here from soulful and folkloristic influences to techno. The first track on the EP “Don’t Give Up On Me” features singer Sobi Thurairatnam with sultry vocals and a stong pop-appeal. D-Nox and Beckers tranform it into a club burner for the early hours. Floidos on the back-side is more of a techno-orientated banger and with Pasion Luis Junior manages to integrate some Spanish Flamenco sounds without getting to obvious.

D-Nox & Beckers Remix of Luis Junior’s ‘Don’t Give Up On Me’ emits vocals that host a sense of nostalgia with spacey components.

With over 20 years experience on the music scene behind him, Luis Junior is definitely ahead of the game with his productions and his musical ability. The artist is based in Madrid and has attracted much attention over the years. His first productions were back in 1993 in which he began to experiment between genres and mastering transitions between them.

His experience has allowed him to fine-tune his sound and has allowed him to have releases on many influential labels such as Bedrock Records, Movement Recordings and his own curation – Mooseekaa, which was established back in 2012.

His most recent works have cultivated towards more of a chill-out and down tempo vibe. Junior’s talent and ability to diversify between genres means his attention to detail is second to non. On top of his productions and mixing, Luis also composes original music for documentaries, film and other media projects.

D-Nox & Beckers remix of Junior’s release adds an upbeat twist to his original, down-tempo production. 1 out of 2 on the remix, D-Nox, is quite the globe trotter. His air-miles tot up coverage all over, including Melbourne, Tokyo and Buenos Aires. D-Nox is more au-fait with mixing and his impeccable familiarity with vinyl. It is only in recent years that he has progressed to his own productions. Number 2/2, Beckers, assists and helps achieve common ground on the electronic music front. The two have over half a century of experience behind them, of which is demonstrated perfectly in this edit.
